3D Monitoring and Measurement
May 04, 2012 时长 32m 12sToday Stereoscopic 3D has become more popular with the advent of digital projection systems and a variety of 3D movies have lead the way to increasing the popularity of 3D with audiences. There is now a trend for consumers to have the same experience in their homes and gradually 3D channels are starting to produce programming for viewers at home.
In this presentation we will provide you with a general understanding of Stereoscopic 3D Technology, review the challenges of producing content in 3D and how we create the experience of depth with our eyes and brain.
We will look at how to monitor stereoscopic 3D signals from the Left Eye and Right Eye cameras and how we need to ensure that the images from each camera are matched.
We will used the Tektronix WFM8000 series waveform monitors to monitor and measure the stereoscopic 3D signals and what adjustments need to be made to ensure correct color balance of the left and right eye images. Tektronix has developed a patented Quad Diamond display that can be used by camera operators and colorist to aid in matching of the left and right images.
We will then discuss the techniques for measuring the disparity of the left eye and right eye images using a variety of picture and waveform displays.
You will learn what can make the viewer feel ill if the left and right images are not presented within acceptable limits and cause strain and fatigue to the viewer’s eyes and brain. We will show you the steps to take to prevent the viewer from experiencing this feeling while watching a Stereoscopic 3D image.
