2025

September 2025: Tektronix introduces 7 Series DPO, setting a new benchmark in ultra-high-performance test and measurement. Featuring custom ASICs, this new oscilloscope is purpose-built for engineering teams and researchers pushing the boundaries of high-speed communications, high-energy physics, AI, and quantum computing. Introduces the MP5000 Series Modular Precision Test system, the first-of-its-kind system brings unmatched flexibility, density, and automation to validation and production environments.

2024-11

In the same year, Tektronix launched the industry's first IsoVu isolated current probe (TICP Series) using radio frequency (RF) isolation technology, setting a new standard for high-bandwidth, low-noise current measurement.

2024

2024: EA Elektro-Automatik acquisition, a leading European power supply manufacturer, significantly expanded its capabilities in high-power test solutions for energy storage, transportation, hydrogen, and renewable energy.

2022

2022: Released the industry's first PCIe 6.0 compliance solution, pioneering standard testing support for high-performance computing in data centers, AI/ML, and other fields.

2020

2020: Introduced the second-generation optically isolated probe, optimized for fast, high‑precision testing of wide‑bandgap devices like SiC and GaN.

2019

2019: Launched TekDrive, the first cloud-based platform for test and measurement data, allowing engineers to share and collaborate straight from their scopes.

2018

2018: Keithley launched its first touchscreen DMM / DAQ system

2017

2017: Tektronix lauched its first 8-channel oscilloscope built for touch World-class SW touch-first scope UX

2016

2016: Introduced the first generation of optically isolated probes, the IsoVu TIVM Series. IsoVu uses an electro‑optic sensor to convert the input signal into an optically modulated signal, isolating the device under test from Tektronix oscilloscopes.

2015

2015: Keithley launched its first touchscreen DMM.

2013

2013: Keithley launched its first touchscreen SMU.

2010

2010: Launched the first browser-based real-time remote control for instruments. Acquired Keithley Instruments, greatly enhancing precision low-level measurement and semiconductor parameter test solutions.

2005

2005: Launched TSP, an innovative platform for software automation.

1990s

Throughout the 1990s: Advances in memory and power testing enabled more compact, energy‑efficient infrastructure and helped propel the mass adoption of mobile phones.

1998

1998: Introduced the first Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope (DPO), featuring a unique parallel-processing architecture that captured, displayed, and analyzed complex signals with real-time 3D intensity information, fundamentally transforming digital design and debug.

1996

1996: Tektronix introduced the first TDS200 Series, applying advanced real-time digital technology to entry-level instruments and helping usher in the digital oscilloscope era.

1995

1995: Keithley introduced its first bench Source Measure Unit (SMU) and semiconductor parametric test solutions (early precursors to later SMUs) for automated device characterization.

1979

1979:  Tektronix introduced the 7104, a 1 GHz non-memory 7000 Series oscilloscope mainframe. Its unique microchannel plate CRT delivered exceptional clarity even at high scan speeds, earning Electronics Products magazine’s “Product of the Year” award.

1973

1973: Tektronix participated in ARPANET communication testing with IBM and university laboratories, helping lay the groundwork for the Internet age.

1972

1972: Tektronix established its internal R&D arm, Tek Labs, to pursue fundamental research across areas such as integrated circuits, solid-state devices, cathode ray tubes, and software programming. The lab gave doctoral researchers the freedom to explore new ideas, helping lay the groundwork for later breakthroughs and spin-off companies such as TriQuint Semiconductor.
