EA Battery Simulator

Together with the Frauenhofer institute, we have developed the EA-Battery Simulator to support you in your hardwarein-loop (HIL) tests. The smart software is compatible with our power supplies and offers you extensive battery simulations.

The EA Elektro Automatic Battery Simulator (EABS) is Windows software with a graphical user interface, made to control bidirectional devices of series EA-PSB 10000. The bidirectional nature of these power supplies, which enables them to source energy or sink energy, is essential for the battery simulation.

Our EA-Battery Simulator Provides For:

  • Multiple battery voltages and capacities
  • Simulation of lead or lithium-ion batteries
  • Voltage, internal resistance, battery temperature and State-of-Charge (SOC) are determined based on charging/discharging current
  • State of Health (SOH)

Primary Features of the Battery Simulation:

  • The bidirectional power supply can replace a wide spectrum of battery sizes due to the supply’s large voltage and current range
  • Simulation of lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries; further battery types can be added with additional updates
  • Simulates or calculates battery specific values such as battery voltage,charging/discharging current, internal resistance and body temperature, as well as State of Charge (SOC)
  • Battery simulation is crucial in the development and product end-testing of:
    • Battery chargers and Battery Management Systems (BMS)
    • Batteries of various kinds (charge and discharge)

License key comes in the form of an USB stick—only an available USB port is required. Drivers and documentation are included.

Purchase License key
  • Simulate a real Lithium-Ion battery with 3.7 V nominal voltage
  • Simulate up to 400 batteries in series and/or parallel for a maximum battery voltage of 1480 V
  • Define the battery's initial state of charge (SOC)
  • Define ambient and internal temperature
  • Save time as the simulated battery does not need to be charged between tests.

Lead Acid Battery Simulation

License key comes in the form of an USB stick—only an available USB port is required. Drivers and documentation are included.

Purchase License key
  • Simulate a real Lead-Acid battery with 12 V nominal voltage
  • Simulate up to 400 batteries in series and/or parallel for a maximum battery voltage of 4800 V
  • Define the battery's initial state of charge (SOC)
  • Define ambient and internal temperature
  • Save time as the simulated battery does not need to be charged between tests.
