BEAVERTON, Ore., — Tektronix today announced the expansion of its TekExpress™ automated compliance software portfolio to aid HDMI 2.2 and MIPI A-PHY, two fast-growing connectivity standards shaping modern displays and software-defined vehicles. The expansion adds automated HDMI 2.2 transmitter testing at up to 96 Gbps, alongside automated MIPI A-PHY transmitter testing up to 16 Gbps, helping engineering teams move more efficiently from design characterization and debug to compliance readiness.
HDMI 2.2 and MIPI A-PHY are advancing as display and automotive systems move more data through increasingly demanding physical links. For engineering teams already contending with tighter development schedules, limited test resources and evolving standards, conventional validation can require extensive manual setup, repeated measurements, and time-consuming analysis. TekExpress translates standards requirements into guided workflows that help teams reduce that burden, identify issues earlier, and keep validation cycles moving.

Automated HDMI 2.2 testing at up to 96 Gbps
New HDMI 2.2 support in the TekExpress HDMI Source Compliance Test Application automates physical-layer compliance testing at rates up to 24 Gbps per lane and 96 Gbps across four lanes.
The application guides engineers through automated test execution, precise measurement and reporting without requiring connection changes or manual intervention between tests. Engineers can acquire and analyze HDMI 2.2 Fixed Rate Link signals, perform differential, eye-diagram and single-ended measurements, and investigate failures with the signal-integrity and debug capabilities of the Tektronix measurement environment.
The broader Tektronix HDMI test portfolio also provides eARC transmitter and receiver measurement coverage, extending compliance and debug assistance across the display and audio-return-channel interface.
HDMI 2.2 doubles the maximum bandwidth available with HDMI 2.1, enabling applications including 4K at 240 Hz, 8K video with full chroma and future display formats up to 12K and 16K resolutions. Those capabilities are advancing the visual experiences possible across gaming monitors, televisions, gaming systems, AR/VR devices, digital signage, and professional video equipment.
The same bandwidth that enables richer experiences also tightens electrical margins. As developers push more data through each lane, signal integrity, interoperability and measurement accuracy become more difficult to prove. The TekExpress HDMI Source Compliance Test Application helps teams apply repeatable validation workflows as they move designs from early characterization toward certification and production.

Automating A-PHY validation as the standard moves into compliance
The TekExpress A-PHY TX Automated Compliance Solution provides a complete physical-layer solution for automated transmitter compliance testing and characterization of MIPI A-PHY devices. Compatible with 6 Series B MSO and 7 Series DPO oscilloscopes, the application supports multiple A-PHY operating modes and data rates up to 16 Gbps.
TekExpress A-PHY automates one-button compliance testing based on the latest A-PHY Compliance Test Specification requirements, including PAM4 linearity, transmitter spectral-mask compliance, output droop, timing jitter and eye-diagram quality. It also enables embed and de-embed filter files for mid-bus probing and single-button conformance reporting, helping engineers streamline compliance measurement, accelerate root-cause analysis, and validate signal quality with confidence.
MIPI A-PHY is an industry-standard, long-reach automotive SerDes connection designed to move high-speed, low-latency data between vehicle cameras, LiDAR, radar, in-vehicle displays and centralized processing systems. These links carry the sensor and display data used for collision avoidance, lane assistance, automated parking, digital cockpit experiences, and emerging vehicle automation now under development.
The capability arrives as the A-PHY ecosystem moves into commercial deployment. MIPI Alliance has reported that A-PHY has entered mass production with a global automaker and is establishing a compliance program as the industry advances toward a multi-vendor, interoperable ecosystem. By automating the complex transmitter measurements needed to characterize A-PHY devices, TekExpress gives semiconductor companies, component suppliers, automakers and test laboratories a more consistent path to standards-based testing.
