EA High Power DC Racks

Configure 3U, 4U and 6U devices into 42U, 38U, 24U and 15U racks. Combine EA-10000 and EA-10000 Industrial series bidirectional power supplies, programmable power supplies, or regenerative loads. System performance can be increased by connecting devices in parallel. In a 42U rack with 5 units of 60 kW you can reach 300 kW, for the maximum power of 3.84 MW you can connect up to 64 units in 13 racks

Integrated safety system.

Each Tektronix EA DC power rack system includes a safety system integrated as standard. It complies with the EN 60204-1 standard and is prepared for connection to 3-phase 400 V mains supply. The systems are equipped with a fast stop button as well as door contact switches at the rear door of the 19″ rack.

A central safety relay monitors and controls the entire safety system and switches off the redundant AC contactor if necessary. All devices in the rack and the entire cabling of the power system are protected by fuses.

Designed for high-performance test environments, the DC Power Rack system combines advanced safety, efficiency, and communication capabilities. It ensures reliable operation through optimized thermal management, fault protection, and simplified system control—all while supporting fast response and minimal downtime.

  1. Water Cooling

    Ideal for environments where heat and noise must be minimized. Includes a pre-installed water distribution system for easy integration.

  2. NS Protection (Network & Supply)

    Ensures safety in regenerative systems by monitoring the AC grid and shuts down the rack during mains faults to prevent islanding.

  3. Insulation Monitor
    Enhances electrical safety by detecting insulation faults between DC output and earth, triggering a system shutdown if needed.

  4. DC Contactor

    Provides safe disconnection between the power system and the device under test (DUT). Integrated into the fast stop chain for immediate isolation during faults

  5. DC Copper Bar

    Boosts rack performance by paralleling power from multiple devices.

  6. Ethernet Switch

    Simplifies communication and reduces cabling with 24-port switch to allow multi-channel control via a single Ethernet interface.

  7. Signal Lamp

    Provides clear system status indication.

Optional Water Cooling available for 4U and 6U models

Industrial environments can be harsh with high ambient temperatures, dust, and other contaminants. In addition, industrial facilities often have to comply with stringent environmental regulations regarding heat and noise emissions. Water-cooled systems can provide stable operation in such conditions, as the cooling efficiency is less affected by the external environment compared to air cooling. Furthermore, water-cooled power supplies can help to meet the standards required by reduced noise levels. Learn more in this video.
